Groundnut Cultivation Project

Supporting Sustainable Agriculture initiative for vulnerable stallholder farmers in Verugal, Trincomalee District

This project intervention provided groundnut seeds to promote groundnut cultivation because it is high returns to each beneficiary during the first cycle of the harvest from the ½ acre of the field they can earn Rs. 75,000.00 to 85,000.00 However, the increased income from groundnut cultivation. After this, they will expand their cultivation extent from ½ acre to 1 acre during the next cycle period. This to increased capacity for producers/ farmers to earn small income to cover the household expenses by this project intervention for 30 farmers and families.
