At Vanni Hope, we are honoured to support S.S. Gowri, a dedicated student pursuing a degree in Yoga and Parapsychology at Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine. Coming from a family in Karapincha Hidellana, Ratnapura, Gowri's educational journey embodies resilience in the face of adversity. Her father, a daily wage labourer, and her mother, who attends to household duties, grapple with economic challenges while supporting Gowri and her three sisters in their education. Despite the lack of substantial family income and the absence of government scholarships, Gowri remains committed to her studies. By supporting her, we at Vanni Hope aim to nurture her potential to contribute significantly to the Indigenous Health Science and Technology field. Her future career holds the promise of advancing holistic healthcare approaches, benefitting not only her family but also her community and the broader field of indigenous medicine.
